We have been living in our home for almost four years now. I can’t believe how the time has passed! And to think, all this time I didn’t update you all with a complete kitchen tour. How dare I!
Are you ready for the before photos? Buckle up.
So, before I show you our updated cute little kitchen, I’ll tell you what we did. We:
- painted the walls blue
- made curtains
- repainted and recovered the kitchen chairs
- solved our plastic bag dilemma
- purchased new appliances
- installed a beadboard backsplash
- made our pantry a fancy one
- lined our cupboards
- purchased a stainless steel trash can (seriously a big deal)
- hung artwork and decorated with decor
When we bought the house, we knew the “bones” were there and that the kitchen had potential. We ended up making simple updates on a budget (most of which going to new appliances) that went a long way in making our kitchen one that we like to cook, eat and entertain in.

Time to take a peek at the “finished” product! (We’re never really finished, are we? 😉 )
We love our little kitchen! It does just the trick for us, and now its just as stylish as it is functional too!
Questions? Just ask!
And as always remember to reclaim, reuse and upcycle!
The paint and fabric alone brighten the space up so much! Great job. I am loving the blue and white right now to. I am currently cooking something up with that color scheme.
Thanks so much, Cari! We really like how everything turned out. Show us some pictures when you’re done, we would love to see what your cooking up! 🙂
Thanks for all the great posts! Very inspiring. My husband and I are going to be looking at a new house today. It’s a real fixer upper and we’re going to need all help we can get, so keep the great ideas coming.
You’re very welcome! Thanks for reading. Good luck with the house! Keep us updated:) We love to see before and after photos!
