This past week I went to New York City! I visited the big apple for New York Now, and the HGTV Blogger Block Party. So, buckle up and get ready for some recapping action!
The first day there I attended New York Now, the market for home lifestyle and gift; and it did NOT disappoint. These photos are only the tip of the iceberg of everything that was at the show! Companies and artists from all over the world came to display their items for wholesale. It really was such a treat to see all the latest design trends for 2017! I walked so much my shoe broke and I had to tape it back together to keep going. True story, yes! 🙂
The next day, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to attend the HGTV Magazine blogger block party. It was such a blast to be around so many incredible bloggers and fellow entrepreneurs. The entire event was dedicated towards meeting, tweeting, and DIYing! Right up my alley. Here was the line up:
Welcome: Opening Remarks
HGTV Magazine editor in chief Sara Peterson
Designing for Big Impact: Fall Ideas & More
Genevieve Gorder presented by Luminara
Business Savvy Blogging: Unlock the Potential of Partnerships
Rachel Faucett of Handmade Charlotte
Design & DIY Trend Watch
Emily Bidwell, Merchandising Manager of Etsy
What We Learned From Blogging Every Day
Sherry & John Petersik of Young House Love
Secrets of a Stylist, Blogger & Mom
Emily Henderson
I got to chat with the presenters which was a lot of fun! I talked with Emily Henderson about her blog, Genovive Gorder about our midwest/Buffalo accents, Sara Peterson about being in New York and what its like to work for HGTV magazine, Emily Bidwell about her upcoming nuptials, Sherry & John Petersik about social media, and Rachel Faucett about our spirit animals. Yes, spirit animals, cause why not? In case you are wondering, Rachel’s is an otter. 🙂
I felt like I got to know each of them and had a great time while doing so! After the event’s agenda came to an end, there was a reception hosted by Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau & Sauza I had such a good time meeting new friends and talking about the DIY world (especially my new friends over at Mod Design Guru and Blissfully DomesticBlissfully Domestic!)
Thank you, thank you, thank you to my friends at HGTV for putting on such an amazing day. I had such a wonderful time and am looking forward to next year!
Till next time New York. Keep it real. <3
